Tender, Loving Care

Silver Maples is owned and operated by Charles and Joan Racicot.
As previous owners of a Vermont country inn they catered to their guests in fine fashion for several years. Today Charlie and Joan provide the residents of Silver Maples with that same dedication and commitment. The fallacy that residential care is the final stage in a loved ones life is shattered by the love, security and independence that each resident experiences at Silver Maples: The day to day worries associated with living alone are removed. Silver Maples is truly A Place To Come And Live.

Joan graduated from the Hanover School of Practical Nursing and was employed by Mary Hitchcock Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit. After her marriage she did private duty nursing for terminally ill cancer patients in their home.

Each staff member is carefully selected and trained to perform the duties involved in providing consistent support and assistance 24-hours a day.

This kind of living arrangement gives family and resident peace of mind knowing that assistance, medical or otherwise is available allowing them to maintain their independence and quality of life.

"Dear Joan, Charley & Tiffany; It was such a treat to spend time with Bett in your wonderful home! I am increasingly impressed by the loving atmosphere you create and the real family feeling that exists there - among the residents as well as between you and Bett. While you tend to all their health requirements, you manage to allow them their independence, dignity and individuality - and everyone seems to be content and happy. I believe this is rare in retirement homes - and I am so very pleased that Bett is with you. Thank you so much for spending your precious time in such a way as to make a haven for these folks. May you continue forever & enjoy rewards beyond measure!"

"When it came time to find an assisted care facility for Ken's mom, Millie, we checked out a few but were directed to Silver Maples by a friend who felt it exemplified the warm and compassionate care that adult children want for their aging parents. We were not disappointed. Millie flourished at Silver Maples until the time came for her to require 24 hour nursing home care. We always felt Joan and Charlie went above and beyond what would be expected in a "home". We cannot recommend Silver Maples enough."

"Dear Charlie & Joanie -We just can't let another day go by without thanking you for the excellent care and attention you gave our Aunt, Jeannette. Even though her stay was relatively short, you truly became a part of her family and we know she was happy and secure in your home. You are to be commended for the wonderful service you provide."
- Thanks again, Bob & Elaine Stringer
